What is DMD?
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a progressive muscle-wasting disease that primarily affects boys. Early diagnosis and support are crucial for managing the condition and improving the quality of life for affected individuals and their families.
This Initiative Offers to Families in J&K:
- Free Genetic Testing: Access to state-of-the-art genetic testing to confirm DMD diagnosis, provided by researchers at the University of Jammu.
- Free Genetic Counseling: Expert guidance and support to understand the implications of the diagnosis and explore available options, also provided by researchers at the University of Jammu.
- Targeted Support: This initiative is specifically designed to reach families in J&K, ensuring localized and accessible support.
- Contribution to Scientific Advancement: Participation in this research will contribute to a deeper understanding of DMD in our region, potentially leading to improved treatments and care.
