We at the J&K Handicapped Association, District Budgam, are deeply grateful to the Budgam Police for their recent act of generosity and support towards our community. A heartwarming function was organized at the District Police Lines Budgam where mobility aids and sports equipment were distributed under the Civic Action Programme of J&K Police.
Thirty specially-abled individuals received much-needed wheelchairs, empowering them with greater mobility and independence. Furthermore, thirteen sports kits were given to individuals from below the poverty line, fostering inclusivity and encouraging participation in sports.
Our District President, Firdaus Ahmed, was present at the event and expressed our sincere thanks to the Budgam Police for their compassionate initiative. The SSP Budgam, while interacting with the beneficiaries, emphasized the police department’s commitment to supporting the specially-abled community and assured them of continued assistance. His words of encouragement, urging individuals not to let their physical challenges hinder their aspirations, were truly inspiring. He also emphasized the importance of empathy and kindness towards this vulnerable segment of society, a message that resonates deeply with our association.
The event was also graced by the presence of the Dy. DAR DPL Budgam, several SHOs, and other police officers. This collaborative effort between the police and our association highlights the importance of community support and working together to uplift the lives of specially-abled individuals.
We believe that such initiatives go a long way in creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for people with disabilities. The J&K Handicapped Association, District Budgam, remains committed to working alongside organizations like the Budgam Police to empower and uplift the lives of our members.
